My 2020 Reading List

You do not need me to tell you that 2020 will not be forgotten quickly by those who have lived through it - an unforgettable year.

I started to cultivate a daily reading habit back in January 2019, as it was an important goal of mine to achieve. My goal was to read one book a month, obviously I have not achieved that goal in 2020 but I did read some great books that I would like to share with you!

Here are my book recommendations for your 2021 reading list

  1. Stock Market 101 - Cuts out the boring explanations of basic investing, and instead provides hands-on lessons that keep you engaged as you learn how to build a portfolio and expand your wealth. From bull markets to bear markets to sideways markets, this primer is packed with hundreds of entertaining tidbits and concepts that you won't be able to get anywhere else. So whether you're looking to master the major principles of stock market investing or just want to learn more about how the market shifts over time, Stock Market 101 has all the answers--even the ones you didn't know you were looking for.

  2. The Compound Effect - Shows us how to make lasting changes by paying attention to the smallest decisions we make – and their cumulative effect on us. It’s about the slow burn, not the big gesture. Author Darren Hardy teaches us that by accepting responsibility for our own lives, we can change our habits and carve out a life that is more successful, fulfilling and happy.

  3. The Snowball - A look at the life and times of one of modern America’s most fascinating men: Warren Buffett. Find out how this shy and awkward man earned his first million dollars and how following a few fundamental rules enabled him to become the world’s wealthiest man.

  4. The Juggling Act - Balancing Your Family, Faith and Work, details the guidelines for balancing life with insights on the importance of prioritizing life, why we should have a personal mission statement, how to be an effective employee, the value of good support systems, and sharing faith in the workplace.

  5. The Power of Now - The Power of Now” is a spiritual self-help guide to help us discover our true Being, release our pain and find deep inner peace. When we are intensely present in the Now, we respond from deep consciousness and flow with ease and joy in life.

  6. Principles - Is a master class in rational thinking. The main theme is that finding truth is the best way to make decisions, and that ego, emotion, and blind spots prevent you from discovering the truth. Ray Dalio shares his major strategies to circumvent these weaknesses, including radical open-mindedness, thoughtful disagreement, radical transparency, and believability-weighted decision making.

  7. The 5am Club (audible) - Own Your Morning. Elevate Your Life, he uses a fictitious story about a billionaire mentor teaching a struggling artist and an entrepreneur about the importance of waking up early to show how revolutionary it is for success
