Ladies, as much as I enjoy developing myself inwardly, keeping up with my appearance is also very important to me. When I feel stressed, I often look stressed. When I feel organised and energised, my appearance tends to follow suit. Whilst beauty is very much in the eye of the beholder, there are some handy products that we love here at team Effortlessly Sarah, that help with the process. Here is a roundup of some of our favourite beauty products!
1. Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid exfoliant
This product has been a game-changer for my combination skin!
- Effortlessly Faith
I started using this after years of only using physical exfoliants. One of my girlfriends found out during a chat and quickly warned me of some of the dangers of using them. She recommended that I use this BHA exfoliant from Paula's Choice instead, I was hesitant but thank God I listened. My skin has never felt and looked so good! I previously had concerns about large pores on my nose and these have shrunken significantly, with each use of this product.
I tend not to wear make-up very often, at all, so having good skin and effective skincare is something that I really pride myself on. This product is full of potent ingredients like green tea extract, which helps to soothe the skin and prevent ageing. You can believe the hype when it comes to this!
Consistency:
Liquid, water-like consistency
How do you use it?
After cleansing and toning my skin, I always follow up with this BHA liquid exfoliant. I let it sit for 2-3 minutes before then applying my moisturiser.
2. La Roche-Posay Nutritic Intense Riche
If you're looking for intense moisture, this product is where it's at!
- Effortlessly Faith
Although I have combination skin (that's an oily t-zone with dry cheeks), I find that the dry parts of my face tend to get really dry. In the past, I've even dealt with flaking. To counteract this, I've been using the La Roche-Posay moisturiser for the last 6+ months and I wish I'd started using it earlier. This product contains shea butter and is non-comedogenic, which means it will give you a good dose of moisture without blocking your pores. Could you ask for more?
Consistency:
Very thick and concentrated
How do you use it?
After cleansing, toning and exfoliating I follow up with this product. Do keep in mind that a little bit of this goes a very long way, so I put a pea-size amount on my forehead and either side of my face - This is enough for my face and neck!
3. Peter Thomas Roth Peeling Gel
If you're looking for a product to remove your dead skin cells and visibly see it peel off , this is it!
- Effortlessly Sarah
Consistency:
Gel, water-like consistency
How do you use it?
After I cleanse my face, I apply Peter Thomas Roth Firm Peeling Gel to a clean and dry skin. I gently massage in a circular motion to visibly exfoliate. Rinse with water once I am satisfied.
4. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial
The best at-home facial that will give you instant results in 30 minutes!
- Effortlessly Sarah
I have been using Drunk Elephant Sukari Babyfacial for years now and is a staple in my skincare routine. The product gently exfoliates my skin by getting rid of built-up dead skin cells and helps tighten, brighten and smooth my skin for a radiant complexion.
Consistency:
Creamy consistency
How do you use it?
I apply Babyfacial to my clean and dry face. After I apply the product , I could start to feel a tingle but nothing intense. I leave the mask on for 20 to 30 minutes and I rinsed it off with lukewarm water.
5. Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment
The best overnight lactic acid treatment!
- Effortlessly Sarah
Another staple product in my skincare routine. I have been using Good Genes Lactic Acid product for over 5 years now. It leaves my skin feeling soft, radiant and plump.
Consistency:
Creamy consistency
How do you use it?
After cleansing, toning and applying my A+ High-Dose Retinoid Serum by Sunday Riley, I apply Good Genes Lactic Acid Treatment cream. Do keep in mind, I use this product only in evenings and alternate every other day with other products.
